Priceless Information

This is Ian's piece of web. See it go. Go, weblog, go! Go travel in Asia. Go study in Tokyo. Go home to Portland. Nah, what the hell. Go, study in Beijing.

Stop. I am a student studying Chinese language in Beijing.

I started this weblog in the Summer of 2002. It keeps following me wherever I go. But, I'm glad to have the company.

Thanks to Clifton for hosting Domodomo. If you need a flash or website designer, you can do no better.

Merry Christmas Bitches

Santa knows what it takes to get through the Holidays. Santa tip: If you heave behind the Christmas tree, nobody will know until after New Years.

Hey bitch, Whassup?

No seriously, I'm referrring to your old post so don't take offense.

How are you? I was just flipping thru TokyoTidbits (getting old...can't remember now but some comment from someone led me to my own old blog and now I'm reading it myself).

Wanted to see what you are up to nowadays. Dav and I got married, changed our last names to match (to my mom's maiden name; we try to be unconventional), had a baby (Tesla is her name which is sorta unconventional too).

Still blogging, but ALL about our baby so totally boring. I realized I blog for ME so hey, it's fine.

Tell me where you are....

Hey that's really sweet that you remember little old me and my little old weblog from way back when ;)!

Actually, I already knew everything you told me in that post, as I never stopped reading your blog(!). For some reason you are the only one of the old Tokyo blogger gang still in my daily reading list. To be honest, at times it feels a little creepy or voyueristic of me (I know it's not) because your weblog has become SO personal (and to my credit, I do my best to skip over boob-related posts).

Actually it's pretty neat to read though, because it's kind of a sneak-preview of the stuff I'll probably be going through in three or four years from now. I'm the first of my group of friends to start "settling down", so I don't really have any other reference point to see this process.

Also my gf of 3 and a half years is from Beijing, so it should be no suprise we find little asian babies especially cute. And yours is freaking adorable. Love those cow (dalmation?) spotted leg warmers.

As for me, I lived in Beijing for a year, and now I am in...Lansing, MI of a ll places. My girlfriend Xiaowen is working on her PhD in communication here, and I got sick of doing the long distance relationship thing so moved out here a year ago. It's pretty boring here, and I miss living in a city, but I have a nice little IT job here so I can't complain too much. Xiaowen starts job hunting in the Fall, and we'll probably be out of here inside another year. Actually San Francisco is pretty much top of our list of places we'd like to move, but it's all really a matter of where the academic jobs are for her (I can work anywhere, really).

As you can see this blog is very much dead, I kind of ran out of things to say once I moved back to the states. Maybe if I move to a new city it will start up again.

OK this post got kind of long. Good to hear from you, seriously. And know that I continue to lurk on your blog =\
